Highly-accessible house for wheel-chair bound client

Specific Qualities
The open-plan internal arrangement with few doors enables the wheelchair-bound client to be largely independent. Extensive glazing to the main space is shielded from the summer sun, but allows uninterrupted views and useful winter solar gain. On the first floor, guest accommodation extends to a sheltered balcony overlooking the large site. The site arrangement, built form and external materials were chosen to suit the rural location, whilst being forward-looking.
